Oldies but Goodies :)

What a blessing that my kids have gotten to know some of their great grandparents so well.

Grandpa Kay came to watch the kids in their gymnastics classes the other day. Fun times!

More pic to come from the year thus far. :)

What an Honor

I had the amazing privledge of being asked to be at the birth of these two little ones. They were actually due about 4 days apart but arrived in their own timing about 4 weeks apart. Both healthy, both beautiful! Thanks guys for letting me be a part...a true honor!

Painting Fun

Instead of buying actual water color paper or water color books for the kids we have used card stock then I draw them a picture. It works great. The paper is thicker than copy paper but still pretty cheap.

This one below I snapped of Jenna without her paying attention to the camera. She has really started to be more precise and painting and coloring in the lines. What a cutie!

Picture updates for the year thus far

I made a teddy bear for my dear friend. She had her first baby, a son, earlier this year.
Cohl the Cub Scout. Super cute guy! Wow, so big.

This year has flown by!!!

Wow, we are about to close out the second month of 2010 and I have not posted one picture. I can't seem to find the fun pics I have taken so I will just update with words :)

--Cohl is officially a Tiger Cub Scout. Cutest thing! He got first place in the Pine Wood Derby out of all of the Tiger Cubs (1st grade) and 3rd over all (1-5 grades). We were all surprised as it is our first time doing anything like that. Since starting Cub Scouts he has visited the Channel 30 TV station, the fire station and designed and built the derby car from scratch. Go Cohl.

--Cohl also swallowed a metal marble. Not sure if it has come out yet, two weeks since it took the plunge into his bowels, I stopped looking for it. Yuck!

--We have had way too many people we know experience great tragedy in the past few weeks, so we mourn with them and those close to them. I am reminded when I am going to sleep and thinking of these families that God says, "Be still and know that I am GOD." I have really realized my own frailty as a human through these weeks and our dependence on God for every breath. He knows the number of our days, yet we think we are so strong and can determine our future. Not so.

--I am so thankful for my friends and family and the support they bring to us physically, emotionally, and spiritually.

Christmas 2009

** Cohl 6 1/2, Jenna almost 3, Kirra almost 5**
(These are pics from JC Pennys just before Chirstmas...we brought our own Santa, my dad)

Well yet another Christmas season has come and gone. Sadly I do not have any pictures of my own to share because I cannot find the battery charger for my camera. We will probably get some pics from friends and family that we can post later.

As I look back on the last few weeks there are a few things that I remember with a smile.

This year we got a Nativity Scene made by the company Play Mobil. They are lego-like but don't come apart and are kid friendly and not breakable. So we wrapped up each piece individually and had three to unwrap each day for 6 days. So as the 6 days before marched on the kids unwrapped the Christmas story. We also got them a kid Bible this year to share and read from that Bible as we unwrapped the characters. Then they held up their character as it was mentioned in the story. That way there were listening for their part. It was fun and they got to open "presents" for 6 days leading up to Christmas. It was definitly memorable and to be repeated for years to come.

Secondly David and I and the SE campus of The Well were able to volunteer at The Neighborhood Thrift making Christmas present giving a little more possible for people this year through discounted new toys and clothes. It was a joy to serve beside you all!

Another great time was seeing my girlfriends that are dispersed in two countries. We missed you Colleen!

Lastly we were able to spend great TIME with all the sides of our family this year and not just rush from one place to the next.

Thank you all for making this year a great year!
